About RGM Law
When you have an unresolved legal matter, you want
experienced attorneys to protect your rights.
Richie, Guettinger, & Manydeeds, S.C., is a trusted, experienced law firm located in Eau Claire, WI. Whether you or a family member needs legal help with a personal injury, business transaction, civil litigation, insurance defense or estate planning, we are here to diligently represent you with personal attention and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.
On October 14, 1993, Jeff, David and Ed were working for two larger firms in Eau Claire. That evening they met at a local pub and, after a couple of beers, decided they wanted to practice law their way. On bar napkins the idea began to take shape. They sketched out an office layout, a rough budget and staff requirements. Six months later, on March 1, 1994, the firm opened its doors for business.

David Richie attended the University of Wisconsin from which he received his undergraduate degree in 1974 and law degree in 1977. He received a number of academic awards including selection to Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif. While a student at the UW he attended every Badger home football game except, to his everlasting regret, the 1974 Nebraska game.
Following graduation, David traded State Street for Water Street and moved from Madison to Eau Claire to begin his legal career. The focus of his practice has been civil litigation. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants. He has tried a number of cases to verdict. He has won a few and lost a few.
David has, on numerous occasions, been asked by other attorneys to act as a mediator or arbitrator of civil disputes. In addition, many judges throughout western Wisconsin have referred cases to David for mediation. For the last ten years his practice has been devoted exclusively to alternative dispute resolution. David has arbitrated hundreds of cases and, by last count, he has mediated over 3,900 cases. If you would like him to mediate a case for you, he will gladly do it. If you would like him to arbitrate a case for you, he might do it.
David has three adult children all of whom are more successful than he is. In days gone David did a fair amount of running and played a lot of basketball and tennis. These days he is reduced to golf, bowling and riding a stationary bike.
